Who can volunteer?
Friends of the Theatre welcomes people from many walks of life. Volunteering at Pilbeam Theatre is a flexible, social and rewarding way to contribute to the region’s cultural life while gaining new experiences, building confidence and helping audiences enjoy live performance.
No theatre experience is necessary. Volunteers receive guidance and support, and each role helps create a positive audience experience, from the first welcome at the door to the final applause.
Retirees
Volunteering offers a meaningful way to stay active, connected and involved in the community. It creates regular opportunities to meet people, share life experience and be part of memorable theatre events.
Working professionals
Flexible shifts make it possible to volunteer around work commitments while developing customer service, communication, teamwork and event support skills in a welcoming environment.
Students (16 years of age minimum)
Students can gain practical experience, build confidence, strengthen communication skills and learn how live events operate, which can support future study, work or community involvement.
Arts enthusiasts
For people who love theatre, music and live performance, volunteering provides a closer connection to the arts and the chance to help audiences enjoy high-quality cultural experiences.
Community-minded individuals
Volunteering is a practical way to give back, support local cultural activity and help make Pilbeam Theatre a warm, inclusive and enjoyable place for audiences.
