Rockhampton Community Musical 2027 Announced: Disney’s Frozen

Rockhampton Regional Council is thrilled to announce that the 2027 Community Musical will be Disney’s Frozen - The Broadway Musical.

In the beautiful mountainous kingdom of Arendelle, Princesses Anna and Elsa grow up sheltered inside their castle, isolated from the world and increasingly distant from each other. When Elsa is crowned queen, the magical powers she’s desperately tried to conceal from her sister take control, and she flees into the mountains. As a ferocious winter descends on Arendelle, Anna sets off on an epic journey to find Elsa and bring her home – with the help of hardworking ice harvester Kristoff, his loyal reindeer Sven, and a happy-go-lucky snowman named Olaf.

Full of magic, humour, and a stunning musical score, Frozen is a powerful tale of sisterhood, acceptance, and finding the real meaning of true love.

About the Community Musical

The Rockhampton Regional Council Community Musical is an annual highlight in the region’s arts calendar. Each year, the production showcases a diverse range of local talent both on stage and behind the scenes, offering performers, creatives, and technicians the opportunity to collaborate on a large-scale theatrical experience.

For 2027, Council is proud to continue its commitment to nurturing homegrown talent, with all roles being sourced directly from the local community.

Council is currently seeking applications for the following roles for the 2027 production of Disney’s Frozen with more exciting opportunities to be released soon.

Director

Lead the artistic vision of this beloved musical, guiding the cast and creative team to bring Arendelle to life on stage.

Puppet Designer / Creator

Design and create innovative puppetry elements that enhance storytelling, including iconic characters and magical moments from Frozen.

Get Involved

Whether you’re an experienced theatre-maker or looking to step into the spotlight for the first time, the Rockhampton Regional Council Community Musical offers an inclusive and supportive environment to grow your skills and connect with fellow creatives.
