Meegan has co-directed & choreographed Emmaus College’s recent musical theatre productions of Beauty and the Beast, High School Musical, Mary Poppins, Footloose, and the upcoming Legally Blonde. She is no stranger to the Pilbeam Theatre stage, having performed in local productions of 9 to 5, Mamma Mia!, Kinky Boots, Wicked and Mary Poppins, while also choreographing more than twenty musical theatre productions for Rockhampton Musical Union & Emmaus College since 2006. A Performing Arts teacher at Emmaus College, Meegan is also the Co-Creative Director of Broadway & Beyond, where she plays an integral role in directing, choreographing and performing in the company's productions.
What I love most about theatre is the way it brings people together. There’s something special about the sense of community that forms when a story starts to take shape onstage. I’ve always loved performing on the Pilbeam Theatre stage, but stepping into directing has shown me where the real magic lives; in the shared creativity, the problem solving, the teamwork, the laughter, and the beautiful chaos of building something meaningful as a team.
Having an 8-year-old daughter who has been obsessed with Frozen since she was two means this music, story and its characters have become a significant part of our family life, so I’ve seen firsthand the joy and connection it creates for children and adults alike. I’m absolutely thrilled to be directing Frozen and can’t wait to work with the creative team and cast to bring this magical story to life for Central Queensland audiences.
