Audio Description Experience for Bangarra Dance Theatre's Horizon

Thanks to Bangarra Dance Theatre’s Audio Described performance experience their acclaimed production Horizon on Tuesday 26 August at the Pilbeam Theatre will create greater access for patrons who are blind or have low vision.
The Audio Description service provides a live spoken commentary delivered through a complimentary listening pack and headphones. During the performance, trained describers convey the physical movement of dancers, costumes, lighting, set design and visual storytelling, helping patrons fully engage with the performance.
Bangarra Dance Theatre has developed the Audio Description experience as an integral part of its creative process, ensuring audiences can connect with the artistic, emotional and cultural depth of the work.
Audience members using the service will also have access to pre-show notes that provide additional context and insight into elements that may not be able to be described live because of cultural protocols or production sound levels.
This initiative reflects a commitment to making arts and cultural experiences more accessible to the community.

Listening packs are available free-of-charge but numbers are limited and must be reserved prior to the performance.
