QLab Intensive: Intro & Foundations

Professional Development

In partnership between Rockhampton Regional Council and Shake & Stir, this hands-on QLab intensive introduces participants to the fundamentals of show control and digital cueing for performance. Participants will build confidence using QLab to design and run simple through to more complex multimedia shows.

Perfect for Secondary or Primary teachers of Drama, Dance and Music or anyone looking to elevate their live performances.
Participants must bring a Mac to use.

Introduction & Foundations (3.5 hrs)

Participants will be introduced to QLab and its core functions, exploring how it is used across theatre, live performance, events, and installations. 

This session focuses on building foundational skills, including:

  • Understanding the QLab workspace and key tools
  • Creating and organising cues
  • Working with Audio cues
  • Using Groups and Fade cues
  • Building and running a simple show

By the end of the session, participants will have created a basic QLab file and understand the workflow for programming and playback.
