As restrictions ease, the capacity permitted inside the Pilbeam Theatre auditorium has increased. This makes it harder to maintain physical distancing in our foyer spaces. Patrons are encouraged to wear a mask while entering and exiting the auditorium, and moving through the foyers. This is not compulsory but recommended by Queensland Health. Regular cleaning of all surfaces and touch points is still being undertaken, and hand sanitiser is available throughout the building for patrons use.

Inspired by the iconic Women in Voice cabaret series that has been part of Brisbane’s music scene for nearly thirty years, Lock&Hock Productions are delighted to bring this wonderful experience to the Pilbeam Theatre in 2021.
With a commitment to showcasing local talent, Women in Voice brings together some of Central Queensland’s finest female singers in a show that gives each singer the opportunity to explore her own unique voice.
Lorinda May Merrypor - Originally from Rockhampton, Lorinda is an actor, singer and dancer. She made her professional debut as a member of the ensemble cast in the Australian premiere of the award-winning Broadway musical, American Idiot. Following that success she performed in such shows as Beautiful: The Carole King Musical and HIT Productions’ tour of The Sapphires, just to name a few.
Amanda Hock - Amanda has been involved both on stage and part of creative teams for many years as a performer, choreographer, and director. She is no stranger to the Pilbeam Theatre stage, with her most cherished roles being Elphaba in Wicked, Velma Kelly in Chicago, Donna in Mamma Mia, and Dusty Springfield in Dusty.
Maddison McDonald - Maddison is well known to Central Queensland theatregoers, having performed as Sophie in Rockhampton Regional Council’s production of Mamma Mia! and Scaramouche in We Will Rock You. She graduated from the Queensland Conservatorium of Music in 2017, having performed in a range of shows in Brisbane including West Side Story, Bare: The Musical and Spring Awakenings.
Kate Leahy - Kate is a local singer songwriter and her performance in Women in Voice will take you on a musical tour through some of life’s challenges and the moments of triumph that come when we face them. Her performance will include some of her most popular music, some new sounds, a surprise inclusion and a new release.
Jenny Wynter - MC for the evening will be Brisbane-based comedian, singer and cabaret artist Jenny Wynter. Jenny was MC of the Brisbane Women in Voice in 2019 and in 2020 toured regional Queensland extensively as part of the Funny Mummies Comedy Gala.
Whether it’s a collection of songs with a special meaning or by a favourite artist, a story told through song or something served up with healthy dollop of humour, Women in Voice will give its audiences a delicious smorgasbord of cabaret, pop, rock, music theatre and more. It promises a night of superb musicianship and theatricality, a night of both individual brilliance and superlative ensemble singing as the singers come together as backing vocalists for each other.
Local artists will be joined by award-winning singer, comedian and cabaret artist Jenny Wynter as MC. Jenny was MC of the Brisbane Women in Voice in 2019 and in 2020 toured regional Queensland extensively as part of the Funny Mummies Comedy Gala.
Women in Voice was started in 1993 by Annie Peterson. Since its first sold-out season at The Sitting Duck Café in Brisbane’s West End, it has played to tens of thousands of music lovers.
Presented by Rockhampton Regional Council. Part of the 2021 See it Live Theatre Season.
