As restrictions ease, the capacity permitted inside the Pilbeam Theatre auditorium has increased. This makes it harder to maintain physical distancing in our foyer spaces. Patrons are encouraged to wear a mask while entering and exiting the auditorium, and moving through the foyers. This is not compulsory but recommended by Queensland Health. Regular cleaning of all surfaces and touch points is still being undertaken, and hand sanitiser is available throughout the building for patrons use.

Dustier than Ever - A Show in Honour of Slim is a 90 minute Show which presented with the approval and endorsement of Joy McKean and the Slim Dusty Foundation in Kempsey.
Chris Cook plays energetic country guitar, skilful and toe-tapping fiddle and highly polished bluegrass/ hillbilly banjo. With Rob Renfrew on double bass and James Cantwell on drums and percussion, Chris traces the history of Slim's progression from his early days at NuIla Creek through to his recognition as an international performer. The Show provides the opportunity to hear a good story about Australia. It showcases a selection of Slim's songs - respectable renditions of Slim Dusty repertoire -interspersed with some of Chris Cook's memories from his years of friendship with Slim. Chris performs with infectious vitality, inimitable style and musical flair.
Chris Cook wrote three songs for Slim Dusty- When the Country's Wet, Diggin' a Hole in my Guitar and Rollin' down the Road. Slim has been a big and very important influence in Chris's music. He has followed him all of his life.
Although COVID 19 restrictions have eased and we are permitted to seat 100% capacity inside the Auditorium (this means no gaps between seated booking groups), social distancing is still encouraged where possible standing in the foyer, we ask all patrons to be mindful and follow directions and reminders as best they can.
For this particular performance we are unable to offer the full morning tea that we usually do. However, free tea and coffee will be available.
Morning Melodies is presented by Rockhampton Regional Council and Bolsover Radiology.
