The Bard Workshop Sessions

All applicants for our youth theatre competition, The Bard Awards, are invited to participate in a FREE series of workshops at the Walter Reid Cultural Centre on Sunday 30 August. The day includes three sessions facilitated by local drama teachers, with each session focusing on a different aspect of theatre/actor training.

Students must have nominated online for the Awards to be invited to these workshops.  They may attend one, two or all three sessions, however, registrations are essential as limited numbers apply.

Session 1 – 9.30am – 11.30am
“The Actor’s Toolbox”

Learn how to master a new monologue and group scene through script analysis and character creation.  Facilitator: Tegan Devine

Session 2 – 12.30pm – 2.30pm
“Perfecting your audition technique”

Nail your next audition and ensure you get the part or get accepted into a drama degree at university.  Facilitator: Amanda Hock

Session 3 – 3pm – 5pm
“Voice, movement and the body”

Discover how to manipulate the tools of your trade – your voice and your body – to take your acting skills to the next level.  Facilitator: Oliver Skrzypczynski
